I lived in La in the late 70’s and bemoaned the fact that I really missed snow on my January birthday. One year, my boyfriend at the time told me we were going on a little trip .. On my birthday.. he said he had everything ready, even packed my bags. He drove for ages to the north overnight and I fell asleep. When I woke up I was deep in a snowy forest. He had driven all night up into Yosemite just so I could have snow on my birthday. That was my first time “snow camping” and I loved it. (Yes, he was a great guy ) ☺️
