Has Autumn Started for You ?

It’s still broiling hot here in central Arkansas and I’m a long way from the peach and gold leaves of the Midwest. So, help me cool down mentally by leaving me messages about Autumn where you are. Has it started yet ? What are you looking forward to the most ?

  1. Hello, hello from the deep south to the jeweeled isles ! So cool to find you across the years and miles. I’m such a Snow Bunny, I should really be back in my home in Leelanau but here I sit in the sweltering forests of Arkansas.

Please send some ocean breezes my way, ok ?
Even my Plumerias have suffered from this summer’s high temps.

Where have you been all this time ? Sailing the high seas ?

  2. Meg!
You just blasted into my mind and now I know a little about where you are. I was a (albeit short-lived lover) of yours in Traverse City, Michigan! I send you big love and blessings from Maui! More later.

    Healing Blessings,

  3. Thanks for the shout-out from the cool North ! If Blue Jays herald your arrival of Autumn for me it is the bright red Cardinals returning to my feeder. There have been no birds of any kind in our backyard since late July, a weird site really. Not even the plain house sparrows or finches could stand the heat and must have all flown down to the banks of the Arkansas River to hobnob with the egrets and herons.

Send your cool air down to us as soon as you can. Even my summer home in northern Michigan has been too hot this year. So hot, in fact, that I couldn’t have my summer there due to no air conditioning in our 60 year old lake house. No cherry pies, no new Moccasins, no broiled perch, no stories by the fire or fossil hunting. A sad summer indeed.

  4. Fall is definitely on it’s way here in British Columbia. I woke up this morning to the loud squawk of stellar blue jays in the tree outside… always the first sign. There’s a chill in the air at night and we’ve begun closing windows. I’ve begun thinking about all the stews, soups and chilli I’ll be making as the year rolls on. Can’t believe how fast Summer has flown by!
