Captain Jack and the Mermaid Album by Meg Davis

June 5, 2012 – A Memory of a Royal Meeting 1974
Queen Elisabeth & I, one grey day in London I was walking past the gates of Buckingham Palace when a royal guard stepped out and raised his hand. I stood just off the edge of the palace gravel drive & the Queen rolled out in her Bentley. The car paused and in that moment the Queen looked up at me and our eyes met. I was so surprised I just smiled and gently raised my hand. She gave me a warm smile and wave back and off she went. There was no one else anywhere near, the mall deserted, as I stood there wondering how amazing it was that I was in that place at just that moment in time. I hope I never forget the look we shared…I suppose I should have curtsied πŸ˜‰

  1. Greetings, Bill ! I think of West Virginia quite often and miss my musical buddies and the beautiful landscape there.
I’ll email you with my home address Bill and I’m sure I’m not the only one who would be very keen to
hear a lost recording of me. You might have something I can share with my music followers (which would be incredibly cool indeed). I’m so glad you hunted me down ! Tell any of my old friends down there in West Virginia to get in touch with me and I look forward to hearing what you’ve been up to all these long years.
